230508 aespa – The 3rd Mini Album: MY WORLD (Album Discussion)

• Thirsty is my absolute favorite, with Salty & Sweet behind it

  I’m not too big on ballads, so I’m still kinda iffy on til we meet again, but it is an over all great album from start to finish

  They chose the right tracks to put together for this

• Thirsty is one of the best aespa Bsides for me. I’m Unhappy is my second favourite, love it, but the rap part is a bit unnecessary imo. ‘Till We Meet Again is beautiful, very pleasant, only wish the instrumentals were a bit lower in volume or the vocals higher, so we could enjoy them fully. Spicy is fun and perfect as TT, Salty & Sweet a bop and Welcome To MY World a very pleasant intro with great vocals that can also stand on its own.

  Overall, a great album, unskippable for me. They explore different sounds and genres and excelling in all of them. Very refreshing to get an album with all tracks over 3 minutes.

  And best part is Giselle said they have a song they love and are already planning a full album!

• Thirsty / Salty and Sweet were my initial favorites on the first listen but if I had to choose my favorite it would have to be Thirsty. I think the “Hahaha” in Salty and Sweet kinda messed with the composition? Lol Thirsty is a smooth listen through and through.

  WTMW is growing on me a lot and I’m unhappy is a bop. This might be another album where I end up playing the B-side more than the title track lol. Although, this might be their strongest EP which is saying alot cause Savage was great.

  What are your album rankings so far? For me it’s My World > Savage > Girls.

• Welcome to my world. I thought after listening to it all, it’ll be between salty and sweet or thirsty but WTMW is so beautiful orz. But it changes like every time my playlist replays so yeah. WTMW’s playing rn so WTMW ahahahaha.

  I’m Unhappy and Salty & Sweet were two of my favorite tracks from the concert and I’m SOOOO glad we finally have actual HQ version to listen to now 😭

• Does anyone know if we’re going to get full mv versions of the b-sides that got track videos? Unhappy was filmed so beautifully, I NEED to see the rest of it.

• Hooray it’s finally freaking here! Overall, just happy to see the girls happy and performing. Worth the wait.

  Spicy isn’t exactly the type of song that I like on first listen, but after a few listens, oh my, am I already addicted. Definitely a fun summer bop, reminiscent of some of my favorite Red Velvet songs – of course distinctly aespa. Not to mention they all look fab (Blonderina needs to calm down, lol). This mini cuts real deep though, all the songs all really have their own color and flavor. My favorite remains Thirsty, as expected, but I lean towards rnb. I’m glad they were able to showcase so many sides of themselves.

  My only nick-pick/question is the absence of the girls’ incredible solos???? I was so looking forward to listening to those in high quality. My jaw hit the floor when watching the concert, I loved them so much. I also feel like Menagerie particularly sounded like it was mixed slightly for Karina’s dance breaks for the concert, so I’m curious if the studio track is different. Anyways, I hope (and suspect) those would be released in a full album? 🙏

• This was a pretty good EP! Much better than Girls (let’s just forget about album). Spicy will definitely grow on me, but for now it sounds like a JYP release 🙁 . I know Thirsty and Salty & Sweet will do well as b-sides for fans and non-fans. I’m Unhappy kinda grew on me :D. Til We Meet Again still can go in the bin tbh.

  With SM’s restructuring, LSM and Yoo Youngjin leaving, I’m curious about aespa’s future musical choices. I’m gonna miss some of the vocal directing from Yoo Youngjin(even for other SM artists) since in this album I didn’t hear much of the impressive vocal stylings we’re used to.

  Hopefully we see great things from them under production center #1

• Spic is so good, rest of album as well. I think this is what gets me deeper into an Aespa rabbithole and into the fanbase

• Can I vote for every song?! Haha no seriously, I actually loved this album at first listen. I felt like each song has its own vibe and style. I loved the ballad vibe of Welcome to My World and the sass of Spicy and Sweet & Salty.

  I’m just really digging aespa. They are a young girl group with something to say for sure. It’s taken me 3 years to branch out from my favorites and I’m happy I landed here with aespa.

• Salty & Sweet is my favourite song, hands down!

• Thirsty might just surpass Lucid Dream as my favourite Aespa song. Initially, I thought Salty & Sweet would be 2nd favourite but both Welcome to My World and I’m Unhappy are coming for that spot. I’m not into that type of ballad so ‘Till we meet again is a skip. Really strong mini and I already know the tt will grow on me.

• I just love till we meet again so much 😭😭 Just had to vote for it. The rest are all like 9s and 10s so it was hard

• Honestly after having their playlist on constant replay for me since release ytd, this is my sequence of fave song.

  Oddly the TT feels the most underwhelming to me despite all the songs being great. I am a personal stan of Salty & Sweet since their seoul concert performance. It might even be my fave song from them so far. I hope they duo promote it too.

• ‘’Til we meet again’. I absolutely love songs that just hit me in the feels, and this one does it.

• Thirsty reminds me of the part in savage where its so dreamy and magical😌
